The Colchester Film Festival is a leading international film festival based in Colchester, Essex, UK.  Every year, the festival has receiving good number of entries from filmmakers across the world, the jury Line up finest films for premiering in categories, including European, World and  UK premiers. Some of their selected films selected at the Oscars and also got BAFTA nominations. The festival goes on every year October second week at Colchester.

  1. The Big Picture (2014)

Director:  Daisy Jacobs

The Short Film ‘The Big Picture’ is an academy award nominated Animation short film produced by Chris Hees.  It has received the academy award nomination for best short animation, also it won the BAFTA award at the 68th British Academy Film Awards . The film tells a story of two sons who are ambivalent about taking care of their aged mother.

  1. Democracy Short Film (2013)

Director: Borja Cobeaga

This is a Spanish fiction film tells a story of a boss lead a big company who implementing a cunning way to motivate his employees.  At 2014 Colchester Film festival, the film received two awards for editing by Borga Cobeaga and best screenplay  by Alberto Gonzalez.

  1. The voorman problem (2013)

Director: Mark Gill

It is a British short film produced by Honlodge Productions in association with Pipedream Pictures (UK). The Film explores a story of a psychiatrist, appointed by the Governor for treating the prisoners.  The film picked as best film in 2013 Colchester Film Festival, also it nominated for BAFTA and academy awards.

  1. Charlie Says (2014)

Director – Lewis Arnold

From the National Film and Television School graduate to 1st grade music director and finally gowned as filmmaker through this film ‘Charlie Says’. The film tells a story of a young boy Charlie, tells a simple lie in order to catch the attentions of his sister and her friends.. This 24 M video’s full version uploaded to Lewi’s Vimeo channel.   1. Good Night (2013)

Director:  Muriel d’Ansembourg

The film ‘Good Night’ is come out from UK production, which telling a story of two girl’s (Rachel and Chloe) friendship, love and sexism.
