‘Visaarnai’ picked in the Venice International Film festival
Filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s Tamil feature film ‘Visaaranai’ has been selected in the Orizzonti (International competition) category of the Venice international film festival. This was the first time a Tamil film scheduled for premiering in the Venice International Film Festival. This year, the Venice film festival will be functioned between September 2nd to 12th and chief festival director of this year is Film Critic-Alberto Barbera.
The filmmaker ‘Vetrimaaran’ is a true-value Indian filmmaker, he was known in the movie industry since 2007, that when he directed his debut film ‘Polladhavan’
After the official declaration of the ‘Venice International Film Festival’ Vetrimaran tweeted -‘In the 72 years history of Venice film festival #Visaaranai is the first Tamil feature to enter in a competitive category.’

Visaarnai’ was co-Produced by Actor Dhanush and filmmaker Vetrimaaran. The cast of the film includes Dinesh, Anandhi, Ajay Ghosh, Samuthirakani, Murugadoss and Misha. ‘Visaarnai’ is a thriller film inspired from a real time incident and it is the second film that co-produced by Danush and Vetrimaaran, their film co-production was ‘Kaaka Muttai’ that was released in last September 2014 which has also received huge positive applauds from the critics worldwide.
