After a long wait, NFDC Announce the names of Screenwriter’s lab finalists
The NFDC (National Film Devolvement Corporation) is a non-profit organization based in Mumbai for distribution and production of the Indian independent films. The venture was organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in 1975. In every year, they organize a programme named ‘Screenwriters lab’ for developing the skills of young screenwriters, where 6 selected applicants get an opportunity to learn about the screenwriting process directly from the experts of the film industry.

NFDC was announced the six selected projects from 280 applicants. The selected projects of NFDC 2015 screenwriting labs are-
Bombay Rose – Gitanjali Rao
The Sun Goes Round the Earth – Arijit Biswas
City of Light – Shubhashish Bhutiani
The Return – Asad Hussain
Dastaan E Awaargi – Ankit Kothari
Mango’s Tale – Sidharth Gupt
In August, The selected projects will show in Sarajevo Film Festival and then in November, the projects will have shown in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa. Among the six selected works, Gitanjali Rao’s film presence is a notable thing in this year’s Screenwriter lab project.. She is a well acclaimed Indian-indie filmmaker: in 2014, her animated short film ‘True Love Story ’was praised in the critic’s week at the Cannes international film festival.
